We Are West Child

OUR MISSION

Widows and Children.
Two groups that are among the most vulnerable in Nigeria, facing high levels of poverty, abuse, and limited access to education.

poor widows
21,000,000
poor children
Statistics state that there are over 8 million disadvantaged widows in Nigeria
Studies suggest that over 50% of widows lack formal education, further exacerbating their vulnerability.
50%
These children who make up over 32% of the nation's youth; that's over 21 million children.
18.3 million out-of-school children, making it the country with the highest number of out-of-school children globally.
18.3M
Both widows and their children often face social stigma and marginalization. This exclusion from community support and resources exacerbates their vulnerability and makes it more difficult for them to access the services they need.
Research has proven that education, legal support and economic opportunities is key to lifting these widows and children out of a vicious cycle of oppression and poverty.

Who are we?
Catalysts for change.
